Sustainable mobility the focus of product engineers
Burscheid/Hannover, Germany - 27 October 2010. Johnson Controls, a leading global supplier of automotive interior systems, electronics and batteries, is showcasing innovations that are ready for series production at a booth at the CLEPA Technology Day 2010. This is the first time the company will participate in this event which is being held at the "Autoworld" museum in Brussels and has the theme of "Green technologies for tomorrow's mobility". CLEPA (Comité de liaison européen des fabricants d'équipements et de pieces automobiles) is an European Association of Automotive Suppliers. During the event, leading suppliers will meet with high ranking policy makers from European Union institutions and member states as well as representatives of national automobile associations.
Sustainability is the focus of the innovatons that will be showcased by Johnson Controls. The company's engineering teams focus on reducing the weight of interior without compromising comfort or safety. Johnson Controls Automotive Experience will display its modular lightweight seating structures and weight-optimized complete seating systems, as well as products that showcase its competence in the area of natural raw materials, including natural fibers and foam made from renewable resources. Johnson Controls Power Solutions will showcase lithium-ion batteries for hybrid and electric cars and energy storage for start-stop vehicles.

We work with natural materials, develop products that reduce weight as well as fuel consumption, and consider how we can efficiently support our customers' new drive systems. Johnson Controls has been involved in CLEPA's product safety and aftermarket task force for many years.
