Gigaset: Platinum Partner of FC Bayern Munich

Gigaset, one of the leading vendors in the field of technology and consumer electronics, is now an official Platinum Partner of FC Bayern Munich and exclusive partner for smartphones, tablets and wearables. Announced today in Munich, the agreement will run for an initial three-year term.

With more than 400 million fans around the world, FC Bayern Munich is the ideal platform for Gigaset to further increase awareness of its brand. The deal has been concluded shortly before the launch of a portfolio of smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA) in Berlin. The company is currently building a series of international joint ventures. Following May’s announcement of an official partnership with the legendary and iconic Ascot Racecourse in the United Kingdom, organizer of the world-famous Royal Ascot race meeting, Gigaset has now teamed up with FC Bayern Munich, a further top-flight international sports brand steeped in tradition.

"The cooperation with FC Bayern Munich marks the beginning of a new era for Gigaset, during which we’ll tap new growth segments by entering the smartphone business," said CEO Charles Fränkl. "There's a great fit between the two brands. Both partners have carefully cultivated long-lasting, high-value traditions – both partners are totally committed to innovation. For us, what’s important is to strike up a lively dialog not just with the club, but also with its fans."

The partners are already planning a number of joint campaigns: Gigaset will accompany the club, which holds a record number of German national championship titles, on its China tour from 16 to 24 July, during which the team will play three matches in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. China is a strategically important growth market for both partners. And throughout the Bundesliga season in Germany, Gigaset will be prominently positioned and actively advertising in the stadium during home games.
